Yesterday a parcel of wonderful jewellery came from Bee Mellor. This is early days for our joint venture. I make felt and needlefelted pieces and Bee adds stitching to them and makes them into brooches and pendants. Looking at them now I realise they are underpriced but nearer Christmas the prices will go up. There are 20 new pieces so come to the shop to see the full range.
Yesterday Ali Cooper brought in new ceramic mugs and bowls and Penelope Utting brought in lots of bunting lengths, some in cotton fabrics, some in crocheted wool. Beautifully made. Pictures to come.
After a lot of thought I've decided not to open on Tuesdays during the month of August - starting next week. I'm not going away anywhere, it would just be nice to have an extra day off. I'm also aware that during November and December I would ideally like to be open 7 days a week so it all balances out. In August Handmade Happiness will be closed on Tuesdays. Ok?

Sounds sensible Jenny, in an independent shop like yours you have to run it according to the peak sales times and I am sure that anyone looking in the window on a Tuesday will make a special effort to return when you are open. The jewellery pieces are beautiful again...you are both so talented, I hope the customers appreciate the effort that goes into making these pieces.
Thank you Chrissy. I do enjoy reading your comments!x
