A Good Routine
To achieve enough stock at this time of year it is important to stick to a good routine. When I did the Country Living magazine show every year this was vital. Each day I'd sit down and produce a minimum value of items. For example three ornate necklaces or ten quicker necklaces, the beginning stage of 5 dolls or 100 handmade buttons. All roughly the same value when sold. I have slipped out of this disciplined way of working lately and I'm trying to get back into the habit. Remind me!
A Good Routine: 7-9am emails/blog and housework then 9-5pm designing and making.

New bracelets
These are for 'Nest' which opens its doors on Saturday in Crouch End, London. I can't wait to stock up on wool there.

My knitted lampshade
I really like this knitted lampshade I made and there are two more to come. In the background is a cushion made last year.
This is how it looks when lit.

What's Going On?
The builders put up the scaffolding this week to repair my porch which last winter's ice and snow ruined.
Ideally I'd have my front door replaced too but that is surprisingly expensive. So I'm really looking forward to seeing my house looking as good as new again!! I think all will go smoothly if I keep supplying tea and chocolate Hobnobs regularly!

Colour choices
So many colours and textures to choose from. I love selecting yarns. I seem to have a lot of yarn projects on the go at the moment. Headbands, jewellery, something unusual I'll show you when it's finished, and last night I started on some fingerless gloves - if they work out well and don't take too long I'll sell a few pairs!
