Cool shoes...

I went round the shoe shops and the charity shops looking for something silver/grey to go with my wedding outfit. Instead I found these. £7 in Cancer Research. No, I didn't wear them to the wedding, but i am looking forward to wearing them with an ankle length swishy, heavy brown skirt or jeans. I have never seen anything like them. Any idea who makes shoes like these?

Jenny we used to buy shoes like this in Afghanistan in the 70s. In Kabul they were in many of the little shops frequented by travelers like ourselves. So perhaps these are from this time or a copy of them.
All my love to you

Hazel, thank you for that information. How interesting.
The shoes are in excellent condition with the soles not worn down at all. They seem really comfortable for walking in. What clothes did you wear them with?x

I didn't own a pair, wearing instead some strange boots from Mazari Sharif that looked as if they were made for a yeti. Peter had a pair which he wore with all his clothes, which were jeans covered in embroidered patches or velvet bellbottoms.

What a lovely feeling when you find something wonderful and not from the high street. I'm all for being a shepherd and not a sheep! I would wear them! I've got a very nice dress which you've seen me wearing several times which was my bargain of the year! £2.50 from 'Help the Aged.' The shoes would go very well with that!
