Thinking about Ballerina Mouse reminds me of school and a ballet teacher called Madame B. An elderly Russian lady with a black cane she used to bang on the floor to emphasise her criticism when a girl didn't perform a movement perfectly. Ballet must have been immediately before or immediately after lunch because we used to line up for lunch wearing our leotards and tights under the strange sleeveless cotton apron all girls wore to protect their uniforms.
