Paper flowers and silk ribbon

Flowers I made in Handmade Happiness yesterday.
Silk ribbon from $6-43 at www.darngoodyarn.com
Garlands of flowers are still in progress for the wedding. 20 flowers equals one garland. Yesterday was quiet in the shop so I managed to make quite a few and today I'll focus on paper flower making again once I've glittered the last batch of bottles the bride gave me at the weekend. I still haven't found any nice silver or gold glitter. Shops say they'll have it at Christmas...

What I did find online is this reclaimed sari silk ribbon in lovely colours. The roses would look so pretty strung from that! I'm imagining this ribbon in embroidery, in jewellery making, in collage or art. You could knit or crochet with it or weave with it. Do you like it? I'm also thinking you could rip up an old silk shirt or re-dye it and then rip it up to achieve something similar. This is just the sort of unusual craft product I would like to sell in the new 'to make with' section of Handmade Happiness...
