Unravel

This amazing crocheted tea-cosy won Michelle Green not only the 'Best in Show' prize but also the 'People's Choice' award. Michelle is an exceptionally talented maker. She spins, dyes, felts, knits, crochets and paints pictures. In fact I doubt there is anything textile she does not excel at. I've known Michelle for years and have total respect for her talent.
Unravel at Farnham Maltings last weekend was a wonderful show. I spent all day there. More pictures and Unravel inspiration follow.

Brick Lane

Brick Lane is a new shop in Petersfield that stocks 'Mid Century Modern' pieces or in other words fifties and sixties furniture, glass and ceramics. I bought a white anglepoise lamp there in brilliant condition for £30 and got chatting to Jim who owns the shop and has been collecting choice pieces for years and years. I started working there part-time last week and I'm enjoying getting to know more about designers of that period. I think these chairs (£25 each) and table (£40) look really contemporary and desirable.

Hermione

Yes, I know you've seen her before but this is a Pay Pal test. Hermione is for sale at £29 plus £2.50 postage. She's 10-11inches high and if no-one buys her I really don't mind because she's one I'd like to keep!!

Installing Pay Pal

SOLD
Sending this doll to the States with her pink dressed companion (see pic below) has made me research having a Pay Pal button on my blog. I found some useful instructions on You tube from 'citricguy' but he assumes I already know how to 'copy and paste'. I have to admit that coming across instructions like that makes me go as woolly headed as my dolls! I can just about manage my simple blog but I can't do anything fancy. Now my super clever son has offered to do it for me if I send him my log in details. So hopefully you'll soon be seeing those Add to Cart and View Cart boxes on this blog together with a bit of re-design.

Gone but not forgotten!

Occasionally I make something I don't want to part with. This doll was a bit special. Anyway I gave her away to be sold in a London shop and she got stolen. That'll teach me. In future I'll hang on to haughty ladies like her! Meanwhile I can try to make another similar doll. Funny how each one turns out so completely differently whatever I intend!

Dream

Knitting together a different future for myself at the moment. It's been a busy week. I found a new outlet for my collage cards, childrens' things and non-Tricot jewellery; I applied for a 'Maker' job in Surrey - but don't get excited apparently they had 60 applications!!; in these hard times I need to earn more money especially as I have more and more of a desire to travel as I get older. Especially to the States, Denmark and Australia. Hmm ticket to Australia? I'm going to have to sell an awful lot more collage canvasses like this one ...!

Putty and Lace

These clothes are the colour of putty. Some would call it greige. Whatever you call it, this colour suits pale English complexions and the lace on lace detail is so pretty. All clothes in this week's Tricot Too window are by Myrine and Me apart from the t shirt which is American Vintage and the necklace which is by Jenny Stacy.

Threading Beads

I've made these for this afternoon's 'Makers' Market' in St Peter's church hall, Petersfield. 2-5pm
I'm selling craft materials there - pieces of felt, pieces of Liberty, vintage buttons, as well as a few dolls and other things I've made. But I think that this year will mark a shift towards selling nice craft materials for me and encouraging others to use them.

Making Felt

I thought I'd make some small squares to sell as a craft material. But actually these pieces are quite large and I'm thinking of making them into cushion covers.
The colours above are actually all greens the photo is not very accurate.

Simple and perhaps the most satisfying. I think I'll make more of these rainbow merged pieces.

More clothes I like

Here's a useful top over jeans or white linen trousers. Could go over a white long sleeve t-shirt? By Myrine and Me available from Tricot Too, Petersfield.
I love the way this hem is gathered on an otherwise perfectly simple dress also by Myrine and Me. I think this is a good basic piece for the new wardrobe. Still reading sugar daddy?!

NEW! Gorgeous clothes for summer

Just arrived in Tricot Too are these lovelies. And if there are any sugar daddies out there yet to declare themselves these are what I'd like you to buy me! Above is a really pretty long top by ekta which would like great over jeans or you could wear it as a dress.
This putty Myrine and Me tunic/dress/ coat has pretty cotton lace detail. Gorgeous over a long sleeve t shirt or cami with the item below!
Love these  Myrine and Me bloomers. Don't the Americans call them 'clam diggers'?

Trust

                                                                                                           SOLD
Each time I send pictures of things I make I get a slight pang because of something that happened many years ago. I had been talking to a big London store about them stocking my things and they asked me to send photographs. I duly sent them and then heard nothing more. I rang after a month or so and they asked for more, different photographs. The next time I was in London I looked in at the store and to my horror saw what appeared to be my things. Being green and a bit young I did nothing about it. But of course I sent them no more photographs. About a year later in an odd co-incidence, I got chatting to a fellow maker at a craft fair. She said that someone she knew received photographs from this store to copy. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
